You might need to check\u00a0your macports space usage. \u00a0I&#8217;m always tight on space since I primarily use SSDs in my machines. Here are some tips I use to help clean macports.<\/p>\n<p>The following are some shell commands you can\u00a0use to help reclaim disk space from macports. I&#8217;ve gathered these from around the web, and tested that each one is safe to use (on my machines at least!). Using all of them combined can save gigabytes of space!<\/p>\n<p>Run these commands in a terminal to help clean up your macports installation:<\/p>\n<pre>#Remove misc leftover data:\nsudo port clean --all installed\nsudo port -f uninstall inactive\n\n#Remove leftover build files:\nsudo rm -rf \/opt\/local\/var\/macports\/build\/*\n\n#Remove download files:\nsudo rm -rf \/opt\/local\/var\/macports\/distfiles\/*\n\n#Remove archives:\nsudo rm -rf \/opt\/local\/var\/macports\/packages\/*\n\n#Remove dependencies of uninstalled ports:\nsudo port -f uninstall leaves<\/pre>\n<p>Alternatively, download a handy bash script of the above <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/github.com\/mcclanahoochie\/bashscripts\/blob\/master\/clean-macports.sh\"
